What this uses, and what it does not

Rates and both ceilings are from the Social Insurance Services Employer's Guide and the 2026 insurable earnings notice. The Social Insurance Fund rate is legislated to rise to 18.6% in 2029, 19.6% in 2034 and 20.6% in 2039, split equally between employer and employee.

This is contributions only, not take-home pay. Contributions are deductible against income tax, but under sub-limits that apply before an overall one fifth cap. That ordering is implemented, with its own sourcing, in our Cyprus income tax calculator. Run this for the contribution figures and that one for the tax.

Also not handled:

  • The Central Holiday Fund. The employer pays all of it, but the rate varies with leave entitlement and an employer operating its own approved leave scheme is exempt, so there is no single rate to apply.
  • The self-employed. They contribute on a schedule of notional insurable income that varies by occupation, not on actual earnings.
  • Weekly and fortnightly payrolls. This uses the monthly ceiling of €5,742, which is €68,904 a year. The weekly ceiling of €1,325 works out a few euro lower across a full year.
